Junior Match Reports
After recent critisism regarding our lack of reports at under 10's matches, we have been forced into taking action and have now appointed Daniel Davies as our new "press officer". Daniel's first assignment was up at Abercrave, and having just read his first match report he has certainly set himself extremly high standards. Excellent work Daniel and welcome on board the Blue express, first stop successville

Lyn Jones The Clown
Sam - you are correct about The Clown not knowing his arse from his elbow. The man is a liability fullstop. He was a Cklown playing rugby for Neath/Scarlets and he was a clown playing cricket for Cwmavon. Nothings changed and it never will.
Ian Gough to the Horsesprays next season then. Sweeney to Cardiff - all done and dusted.
Any spares for the England game mun?
Kessler.

Hartlepool Monkey
I suggest this years' rugby tour doesn't go to Hartlepool for obvious reasons..........
The monkey-hanging legend is the most famous story connected with Hartlepool. During the Napoleonic Wars a ship was wrecked off the Hartlepool coast.
During the Napoleonic Wars there was a fear of a French invasion of Britain and much public concern about the possibility of French infiltrators and spies.
The fishermen of Hartlepool fearing an invasion kept a close watch on the French vessel as it struggled against the storm but when the vessel was severely battered and sunk they turned their attention to the wreckage washed ashore. Among the wreckage lay one wet and sorrowful looking survivor, the ship's pet monkey dressed to amuse in a military style uniform.
The fishermen apparently questioned the monkey and held a beach-based trial. Unfamiliar with what a Frenchman looked like they came to the conclusion that this monkey was a French spy and should be sentenced to death. The unfortunate creature was to die by hanging, with the mast of a fishing boat (a coble) providing a convenient gallows.

Who's the Daddy!
What I want to know about chimp and the phantom pregnancy is, who is the father? or is this a miracle and chimp is going to give birth to the next Messier!
Posted By: Shakey On: 2006-08-14 14:37:06
Naughty chimp!
Hola, Good stuff there about all the sponsership the boys are putting into the club. It's very true what ozzie said about investing in the club and it's the important role it plays in our village.
On a somewhat sour note i cant agree with his defence against chimpism. I realise chimpism is on the increase in south wales at the moment due to the influx of refugee chimps from east asia and africa recently due to a chimpaside by the relevent dictators in those countrys.
But the chimp in question (grant el chimpo rees) is no such refugee as i know his dwelling at pelican street yatradgynlais. he is regularly seen stealing bananas off old ladys and once terrorised the locals in the butch stealing penuts and golden virginia taboaco from them. Yes thats right there is another side to chimpism and well done to shakey for telling the untold truths!

Thanks boys and Say no to Chim
I would just like to copy Gar Not English and say thanks to Paul, Steve, Bish, Tristan in sponsoring, and everyone at Siop Y Clwb for putting together our new kit. With our rising success as a team and increased publicity (largely due to this website), I’m sure this will prove a shrewd business move. I’d also like to note that they all put much more than their money and their business logo’s into the club with their involvement as players and organisers of our First, Athletic and Junior sides.
We as a CLUB have paid a high price in the past for taking the narrow view and concentrating solely on the first team and have taken our time to realise and learn from our mistakes. Mistakes, I feel are being repeated by another successful TEAM (not club) in the area. I would like to commend these boys, who amongst others are looking towards the future of Y.R.F.C and are able to see the bigger picture of how important a role the club plays in our village for players(old and young), members, supporters, kids and families.
P.S. I would like to complain about Shakey’s allegations against Grant “Chimp” Rees in his latest News item “Tour Meeting Tonight”. He accuses Mr Rees of being at the centre of a chimpanzee pregnancy scandal in an attack that can only be described as Chimpist. I had no idea he was anti-primate and makes me wonder just what he has against monkeys. I would remind Shakey that we are a tolerant rugby club and should not victimise Mr Rees, just because he looks different. If Shakey doesn't understand Grants culture of eating bananas and picking fleas out the boys hair in the showers after games, then thats his problem.

I believe this is the right forum as a player to thank the four new sponsors for our new shirts.
I also feel that Top Pops should be credited for the new tracksuits.
Also Cerys, Allan and Rob Lock for alot of hard work in pulling the shirts and tracksuits together.

Disappointment
I have to say that im disappointed that my brief enounter with a celebrity cannot be included on the website. As for evidential purpsoes, you can ask Morgans (if he's stopped crying) as he was there! I didn't have enough time to tell the legend that i was the Sumo Wrestling Champion of Whitley Bay 1999 but next time i see him - i will!

Simon NO!
Unfortuantly my friend Simon you have not provided me with enough evidence to enter you into Ystrad and the Celebs section. Also did you tell him Simon that you are the Whitley bay tour Sumo Champion

Celebrities
I read with interest on the new section 'Ystrad and the Celebrities'. During a recent visit to the bright lights of Swansea i had the pleasure of shaking hands with the legend that is - Joe Calzaghe!! Joe was pointed out to me earlier on in the evening by Lee Morgans but i dismissed this as a drunken observation by Moggs. As i do not have any photographic evidence of this great event, i was just wondering wether this still counts?!
By the way, Moggs was gutted that he didn't have the chance to shake the legends hand!

Good job Mr Dai Whiskey Lewis.
Im having a lot of praise for the web site and I thank every one but I do think people tend to forget that im just one half of a dynamic duo.
My partner and web designer is Dai whiskey Lewis, and he is doing one hell of a job.

Guestbook Fixed
It has come to my attention that members could not add an entry to the guestbook. It was because of the swear word filtering I had installed recently.
This has now been fixed.

U15's at play
The u 15's playing their first full game of the season in the prelim. round of the Ospreys Cup successfully defended their age group title with an emphatic win over arch rivals Aberavon Green Stars 26pts to 5pts.The pack dominated their opponents much fancied pack throughout the game and displayed a lot of maturity in the way they played. The threequarters showed their superior pace from start to finish .In all a great game to watch played in a magnificent spirit.Tries by Bowdy Davies (2), Daniel Baker and Simon Brown conversions by Sam Llr Davies (3). Keep up the good work lads and cut out the silly penalties and wayward kicks which kept green stars in the game.

Another win in the bag and a much better performance than the shower of sh*t against Glais. Phillips back on the scoresheet - get in!

An outstanding win against Neyland especially as we also had a poor ref to contend with. The young forwards really got stuck in this week providing some fast and first time ball to allow some good flowing rugby within a very young back division who showed what they can do when they have the ball. Star players Dai Love and Chris Thomas showed their experience from playing at a hihgher level which resulted in some well deserved tries in the second half to take the Blues through to the next round of the cup. Da iawn
