Ystradgynlais finished off their last home game with an eleven try hall and in doing so secured promotion to Division 4.

The Blues showed their intent from the very beginning with a first minute try from their brute of a flanker Mathew Owen. They again pressed and score four bonus pint tries before the quarter mark. Wing Ian Evans added a brace to his impressive try tally as did live wire hooker Chris Thomas. Hywel Evans added a pair of conversions and Nathan Holsgrove added a rare two pointer.

The other tries came from scrum half Jamie Roberts, bull dozer second row Kieron Jones and number 8 Carwyn Lawrence. Hywel Evans added a pair of conversions and Nathan Holsgrove added a rare two pointer.

The Uplands also added a trio of tries to their season tally and have improved drastically over the past twelve months.

Ystrad have maintained their attacking game all season and did so for the eighty minutes, entertaining and positive at all times.

The Blues play their final league game on Wednesday against Swansea Valley rivals Trebanos as they continue in their quest to win the league title.
