A spirited Blues team fell at the hands of Division one Corus in their first Pre Season friendly.

The difference in the divisions showed in the end but Ystrad had put up courage’s and whole hearted display. They managed to disrupt Corus is play and gave a good account of themselves.

The side lead by Craig ‘Cochyn’ Jones was missing many of last years starters missing and the void was filled by other squad members and realistic Athletic boys who actually have the passion to represent their village.  This was typified by Daniel Holsgrove who had been in a car crash only 48 hours earlier and against all medical advice played.

The next pre season fixture is against Ripley Rhino’s, which is a charity match in aid of the Welsh Air Ambulance.

A week later the Blues plays Vadre home in what is there first game outside the comfort zone of Division 5!
